   ch st = chain stitch                                      lp(s) = loop(s)
           sl st = slip stitch                                         mm = millimeters
               yo = yarn over                                            sts = stitches
         sp = space                                                    rd = round
         sc = single crochet                                      rep = repeat
     dc = double crochet                                    tog = together
   hdc = half-double crochet                         beg = beginning
   tr = treble crochet                                      RS = Right Side
     trc = triple crochet                                     WS = Wrong Side
         sk = skip
     pat st = pattern stitch

Hook sizes will also vary. Here are a few of the most commonly used sizes:

                        E / 3.50mm
            Crochet Hooks                 F / 3.75mm
            G / 4mm
H / 5mm
