Over the years I've found it easier to keep track of the rows in my crochet patterns if I highlight the rows as I crochet them. That way, if I have to put it down for a day or two, the next time I pick it up, I'll know right where I left off. ~ Cheri, Missouri

I have found it useful to use a bobbypin, or safetypin, to make the end of a row when making baby booties or just having to track certain rows. They stay in place really well and you can easily remove them when you need to. ~ Janice, Oklahoma

In learning to make a slip knot, make a loop and insert the needle through the loop. Draw the yarn through the loop. You can then tighten the knot by pulling both ends and your slip knot will look more straighter. ~ Sheila, Georgia

Keep a fingernail file handy while knitting or crocheting to avoid snagging the yarn and causing it to get fuzzy. Also, if you're going to apply hand lotion, make sure your hands have soaked up most of the lotion before continuing on with your project! ~ Jennifer, Oregon

Always more sure you take a picture of the knitted or crocheted item when you complete it! I have a photo album dedicated just for all of the garments and afghans I've done. It's a great way for you to reuse patterns, and to show off your expertise! ~ Tina, California
